I must admit, I haven’t been updating this blog for quite awhile. That’s because I’m caught up in a couple of new projects, AND I’ve had to move house (very stressful for me) twice in the first 6 months. So I’m kind of forced to make do with whatever little time I have left to work on my online projects.
I figure it’s about time that MyArtPassion.com has its own second premium product. It’s been more than 6 months now, since the launch of MyArtPassion Drawing Method Home Study Course. Thank you to all you kind folks who’ve shown me your support.
Well, over the course of the past few months, I’ve gotten to know the members on my list a little bit better. And the most frustrating thing for many aspiring artist is that they find it difficult to capture the image in their head on paper. I can only find one reason for that - a lack of drawing skills!
Now given time, I believe that every single one of you (with persistence) will eventually get it right. Just keep observing, learning, experimenting, and practicing!
But if you think you could use a little help to shorten the learning curve and speed up the process, then you may be very interested in what I’m going to say for the rest of this post.
I’m going to come up with a second product called THE BIG BOOK OF DRAWING ACTIVITIES
And I guess the title kind of says it all. It’s going to be a big book filled to the brim with drawing activities so that you can get spend hours and hours working on your drawings until you eventually find it EASY to draw the images in your head!
Here’s your chance to tell me what you’d like to draw, so that I can include it in this latest activity book. Now is not the time to be shy. Let us know what it is that your heart desires to draw (your idol, manga, whatever…), and I’ll certainly see what I can do.
So leave your comments below, and let’s see what you’d really like to draw…
Oh, and if you haven’t join the mailing list, you can do so here: Online Drawing Lessons
Many new artists who are on the journey of learning how to draw have asked me, time and again, how to start?
Of course, you would immediately realize that there are many possibilities that we can explore here.
But one very useful way of deciding where to start is to think about how useful is our art.
As artists, we don’t create art for ourselves alone. In fact, it serves us not to think of art as something that’s separate from the rest of this world. To keep ourselves grounded, and manifest our ideas in reality, we may want to consciously choose to think about what our art is, relative to the rest of this world.
For example, all commissioned artists cannot sell their art if they create art only for themselves. It is when their customers see that their art is of some value that they purchase anything from the artists. Here, anyone would recognize that different people see value differently. One person could buy a piece of art because he sees it as an abstract beauty, while another could buy the same piece of art but not for it’s abstract beauty but for it’s perfect fit into his home’s deco. You see, it’s all a matter of relativity.
So how useful is your art? I’m sure, by now, some ideas are swimming around in your head. Explore the possibilities, then make a conscious choice.
I’ve been secretly testing some image gallery software for a couple of reasons.
First, some members have been grumbling about a lack of illustrations on the site. Secondly, a few members have taken the trouble to email me their works, which is great. But I’m just one person viewing the works and sharing comments.
Now with the image gallery, members can view and comment on other people’s works. Also, hopefully it’ll stop all the grumbles that there’s not enough illustrations.
It’s free, so do go ahead and create an account for yourself. The registration link is on the top right hand corner. You’ll need to click on a confirmation link to confirm your email and you can start uploading your images to share with the rest of the world within minutes.
Each account starts with 10MB of free webspace. More space can be allocated if necessary. Only registered users can add albums and comments. If you want others to comment on your works, start by commenting on other people’s works. They’ll soon reciprocate and view your albums.
Let’s work together to make this site a success. It now has 1,356 members.
I’m writing this entry at 2:45am in the morning. The Home Study Course is on track to be launched at the end of this month. I’ll be broadcasting to all the members to inform everyone on the official launch date soon.
But I want to quickly add this entry because I just happen to be thinking about this. It’s about the laziness in all of us. You see, when I launch Vol.2 of the Home Study Course, I know I’m going to have to write a “sales letter”. I know some of you absolutely resist that and all your alarms go off and you’re going, “What?!? You’re going to sell something to me? No way!”
Well, to be honest, I hate selling as much as you do. But unfortunately, that’s how the world works. To be able to continue doing what I love on this website, I have to sell because just like you, I’ve got to eat and I’ve bills to pay.
Plus, I know I’ve put in the effort to solve your problems and earn the right to offer you a top notch product. So if you think you need a little help with drawing or painting, and can afford the 100 bucks of so, kindly show your support. I’ll be really appreciative of it. I promise
But I was just talking about the sales letter. You know, I believe there’s always a hint of that tiny bit of laziness in all of us. It’s just human nature. Knowing that, I can write my sales letter to make use of this little known fact to acquire more sales.
And I would write something like, “You don’t have to do anything more. Just sit back and relax, and I’ll present all the solutions to you and you don’t have to even lift a finger to improve your drawing skills.”
But if you know me, you know I’m not going to do that. Instead, I’ll just do the direct opposite and probably say something like, “Yes, you have to do something. You have to digest the information, use it and practice your drawing. Then you have to read the course again to see if you miss out anything and then practice some more!”
Now if I say something like that, chances are some people are not going to buy from me. Just because there’s that little bit of laziness in all of us.
But you know what. Even though it’ll cost me some sales, I’m still going to stick to my gun and say it anyway. Who cares about a few lousy lost sales. I’ll always stick to my principle of always acting in the best interest of my customers no matter what happens so I can’t imagine not telling the truth.
And the truth is, the course is not a magic pill (sounds familiar?). All the problems have been defined, properly researched, and the solutions presented as clearly as I can. BUT, if you’re not willing to play your part and put in some effort, there’ll be no fruits for you to enjoy at the end of the day.
So if you are REALLY serious about learning how to paint or draw, drown the word “laziness” or kick it out of the window or do whatever you have to do and embark on the never ending journey of learning how to draw and paint.
I look forward to speaking with you in the Home Study Course.
The paint money report is a huge success, so here’s another one.
Take it, use it, earn more paint money for yourself.
I’ve even taken the trouble to record a downloadable MP3 audio for you, so that you can quickly get what I wanted to say.
By the way, this is my first time doing an audio recording. It’s not easy for me because the English language in my country is a little bit different. Over here, we’re famous for our heartland language called Singlish.
I’ll tell you a little more about Singlish some other time, but for now, you may click “Play” to enjoy the MP3 recording.
I even managed to sneak in some cool entry and exit music into the recording…check it out.
I was working on Vol.2 of the Home Study Course and received an email from a customer who just bought Vol.1. Apparently, she thought the Free welcome email was all that she was getting.
There must be confusion in the communication process that allowed this to happen and I told myself, “This wouldn’t do!”
So I immediately stopped what I was doing and wrote this blog post.
First of all, I want to assume responsibility for what happened, and I want to apologize to ALL customers. If there’s any confusion in the download process that caused you some miscomfort, I’m truly sorry.
Now I want to do something that make sure the same thing don’t happen again.
1) I’ll be including CLEAR download instructions in all future sales copy for the premium products.
2) I want to clarify that this is a DIGITAL purchase. You won’t be receiving any physical products. This is a digital purchase for several reasons. I’ll explain more on this in the sales letter for vol.2.
DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS
Right after the purchase, please DO go ahead and click the “CONTINUE” button and you’ll be brought to the download page immediately.
There’ll be no welcome email until you join the customer email list on the download page.
Hope that clears things up.
Again, I apologize for any inconvenience, misunderstandings, confusions etc. Thank you all for your kind support and purchase.
